We are ready to act in any crisis. A network of trained volunteers and partner organizations is already on the ground, equipped to deliver shelter, food, and medical care whenever disaster strikes.

Herat Earthquakes — October 2023

On 7 October 2023 a 6.3-magnitude earthquake, followed by a second strong tremor, hit Herat Province. The impact was devastating:

  • 1,000+ deaths — most of them women and children

  • ≈ 21,000 homes destroyed — families left without shelter or livelihoods
    (UNICEF report)

We mobilized aid for survivors and helped communities rebuild.

Paktika & Khost Earthquake — 22 June 2022

A powerful quake struck Afghanistan’s south-east, devastating Paktika and Khost provinces.

  • 1,036 people killed and 2,949 injured (media reports)

  • Hundreds of families lost their homes and livelihoods

By early 2023, survivors faced a harsh winter with little shelter or heating.

Our response in Barmal District (Paktika)

After surveying the hardest-hit households, our local partner delivered winter-relief kits to 100 families:

  • Warm blankets - 1 set per family

  • Cash for heating fuel - US $145 per family

These kits helped families stay warm and safe while they rebuild their lives.
